Pregnancy and Returning to Exercise

Your body goes through enormous change throughout pregnancy and we are here to support you. We have specific modifications to our Reformers that allow you to continue exercising in a safe and comfortable way, offering a unique opportunity to exercise safely that is not offered elsewhere.

We are pregnancy friendly and advise you to get your doctors clearance after the first trimester if you have not already done so, as well as clearance when you are returning to exercise post-partum.

The reformer pulleys and springs create resistance and challenge your body without adding muscular bulk. Because of this, Pilates also builds greater resistance to injury by correcting poor posture and building core strength. With wide varieties of exercises being done on the reformer to promote length, strength, flexibility and balance. These all lead to better posture, graceful, efficient movement and for many, relief from back pain.

The Pilates powerhouse muscles - your core muscles, are paramount for building strength. Strong abs and backs, toned buttocks, and firm thighs are all results of regular Platinum Studio Pilates classes.
