FAQ - Frequently asked questions

Getting Started

How do I get started?

Fill out our website Registration Form, then Download our App (Platinum Studio Pilates or Mindbody App) and create an account. You can then select a pack of your choice (Introductory Pack for all new clients is the best value), make your payment and begin booking in your classes.

New to Pilates - What do you do?

A Private Class will be your best introduction to Reformer Pilates. It will provide necessary orientation to the Reformer machine and proper techniques for core engagement. If this is not possible, upon your first visit to our Studio, make sure you book in for Beginner Classes only.

What do I do after completing my Registration Form?

Make sure you complete this properly and provide us with all necessary information about your past physical and medical ailments. Our Instructors will note these issues and assist you in your exercises. After completing your registration, you will need to download the Platinum Studio Pilates App or Mindbody app and input your details to create an account. Once completed, select a pack or membership of your choice and make payment. You will then be able to schedule your classes through the app or website.

How should I prepare for my first class?

You should arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled class. You will be given an orientation about the equipment used, as well as addressing any physical or medical issues that you may have. All classes are undertaken with Grip Socks, which are available to purchase at our Studio. No shoes, bare feet or plain socks are permitted. Bring a water bottle as well and get ready to exercise!

General

Can I just turn up to join, book a class, etc..?

All our bookings and payments are done through our website or App. If you have not paid and/or scheduled a class, you will not be permitted to attend any class. All payments and bookings must be made before you attend a class.

How many Reformers in a class?

We conduct classes of a maximum of 12 people.

Are our Instructors qualified?

Our Instructors all possess the necessary qualifications for all classes they teach.

Is Reformer Pilates suitable for men?

Yes it is. We have many men who attend. Chuck Norris promotes and uses the “Total Gym” which is a Reformer Pilates machine. Men are surprised with the all over workout that Reformer provides. Many NRL players are regular Reformer Pilates trainers.

How many classes should I do per week?

Like any exercise regime, if you want to see results, you should attend at least 3 classes per week, although anything is better than nothing!

What is your Cancellation Policy?

We have a 12 hour cancellation policy. Any short notice cancellations will be charged for the class.

I am pregnant, should I do Reformer Pilates?

As soon as you find out that you are pregnant, you will need to obtain a clearance certificate from your doctor to attend our classes up until 12 weeks. After your first trimester, our classes will not be suitable for you.

What facilities do you have?

We have bathroom and shower facilities, and cold filtered water available.

Can I transfer or share my class packs and/or Membership?

The quick answer is No. Each client must have their own registration and account. This is also very important so that we have a record our clients as well as their registration which is acknowledged and submitted by you which notifies us and provides a background of any physical or medical issues that we may need to know of.

No one can attend in your place using your name to book or attend classes. We reserve the right to refuse someone from attending a class if they cannot prove that they are the person who is registered. We also reserve the right to terminate the remaining classes and/or credit attributed to a registrant if we believe that they are contravening these. No payment will be made back to the registrant as a result of this breach.

Classes

Do you have Private Classes?

Yes we do. These classes are perfect for those not ready to enter a group class environment or have injuries and would like individual attention or a class specific to their condition.

Can I do a Moderate Class?

If you are completing Beginner Classes comfortably and want an extra challenge, our Moderate classes offer a step up in intensity.

What are HIP Classes?

These are our High Intensity Pilates classes. When you want something that is really going to push you and work up a sweat, join our HIP Classes. They are not for everyone. These classes should be avoided if you have ailments and injuries as they will push you.

Membership

What is your Platinum Studio Pilates Unlimited Membership?

Our Membership is a Membership for a total of 12 months. It offers you unlimited classes per week (one class per day), for the cost of $50 per week. Memberships, like all of our packs, are Not Transferable, and can only be used by the Registered Member.

What if I go on holidays or want a break during my Membership?

We can suspend your Membership for a maximum of 4 weeks during the 1 year Membership and in intervals of 7 days.

What if I want to cancel my Membership?

Our Terms and Conditions of Membership provide that your Membership is for a period of 6 or 12 months depending on which Membership you have signed up for. Memberships cannot be terminated before the expiration of the 6 or 12 month period without paying the balance of the amount outstanding for that 6 or 12 month period.
